
On February 28, 2025, the city of Rabat resonated with the rhythm of Black culture during the celebration of Black History Month, organized by the ESAMI (English Speaking Association for Migrants Integration). Under the theme « Unity in Diversity: Celebrating the Tapestry of Black Heritage, » this event gathered participants from all backgrounds to honor the contributions and heritage of the Black community.
Although the event was initially scheduled to take place at Social Educational Center Al Wfarah Avenue Oued Akkrah it was moved at the last minute to the headquarters of the ESAMI association, located on Avenue 938; cit Inbiat

This change did not dampen the enthusiasm of the organizers and participants, who came together for an afternoon filled with activities and exchanges.

The event program included a panel discussion, where speakers explored the rich history and significant contributions of the Black community. Attendees enjoyed various performances, ranging from traditional dances to theater pieces carrying strong messages of hope. Children particularly captivated the audience with their vibrant performances, bringing a touch of joy and energy to the celebration.

Music also played a central role, with a concert featuring the ESAMI orchestra, which got the attendees dancing and created a festive atmosphere. The artistic celebrations were a vibrant tribute to the diversity and richness of Black heritage.

Emmanuel Bamadu, president of the organization, took a moment to express gratitude to the American Languages Center (ALC) for its support, which made this event possible. « This is a moment of recognition for all of us, and we hope this event will be the first of many, » he declared enthusiastically.

Participants left the event with hearts full of inspiration, education, and celebration, underscoring the importance of gatherings like this to promote unity and diversity. The celebration of Black History Month in Rabat was a true success, and the organizers are already looking forward to future editions.
